CAS – Creativity, Activity and Service

Welcome to one of the most rewarding and interesting parts of your Diploma. As an IB diploma student you also participate in a program of activities known as CAS. This is an opportunity for you to get out of the classroom and participate in creative, active and service activities that will ask of you to be open-minded, socially responsible, critical thinkers and to take risk.

The IB Diploma Programme is a rigorous pre-university course which places a high emphasis on academics. With CAS you will have a chance to move your activities outside of the classroom and take part in extra-curricular activities.

At Struer Statsgymnasium we have long had a very good cooperation with the local community in which our students take part in various short-term and long-term projects. Projects where students can really make a difference and develop leadership skills. We also have projects that are school-related that range from sports activities, arts, music, musical work, tutoring, participating in Model United Nations, “Biking without age” etc.

Our CAS Coordinators support our students with their CAS. Each student has his or her own strengths, interests and priorities, so it is important for our CAS Coordinators to work with you on an individual basis. That way our projects develop from year to year and you will be able to fit your own ambitions for CAS into a personalized experience.
